The switch (10) has an actuator element (61) acting on a tripping element (52) for establishing electrical connection between fixed electrical contacts (36, 38). A damping element (28) interacts with the tripping element so as to dampen the noise caused by the impact of the trigger element, where the damper element is a damper block, which is arranged axially between a lower support plate (18) and lower edge (62) of a base (60) of the tripping element. The fixed electrical contacts are arranged on an upper face (34) of the damping block. An independent claim is also included for a method for attenuating noise of an electric switch.
