PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a life guard device of a railway vehicle which reduces the weight without impairing the strength.SOLUTION: A life guard device 1 is provided at a front end part of a railway vehicle and includes a hollow body part 2, a pair of hollow arm parts 3, and a pair of flange parts 4. In the hollow body part 2, a railway vehicle width direction center part protrudes forward in a plane view. The hollow body part 2 includes an internal space and is made of fiber-reinforced plastic. The pair of hollow arm parts 3 is integrally formed with the hollow body part 2 and protrudes upward from both end parts of the hollow body part 2 to the rear side. The pair of hollow arm parts 3 has internal spaces communicating with the internal space of the hollow body part 2 and is made of fiber-reinforced plastic. The flange part 4 protrudes from a rear end part of the hollow arm part 3, is attached to the railway vehicle, and is made of fiber-reinforced plastic. The hollow body part 2, the hollow arm parts 3, and the flange part 4 are integrally molded. |
