PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rack shaft supporting device that is capable of improving operation reliability of a function for compensating wear and a steering device using the rack shaft supporting device in a configuration for basing a rack shaft to a pinion.SOLUTION: A rack shaft supporting device 15 comprises: a support yoke 24; a plug 25 for closing an opening 23 of a housing compartment 20; a ball screw mechanism 26 between the support yoke 24 and the plug 25; and a torsion biasing member 27 between the ball screw mechanism 26 and the plug 25. The ball screw mechanism 26 has a first thread portion 31 in which first thread grooves 31B are formed, a second thread portion 32 in which second thread grooves 32G are formed, and balls 33 located in rolling paths 34 formed by the first thread grooves 31B and the second thread grooves 32G. The torsion biasing member 27 advances the second thread portion 32 to the support yoke 24 side while rotating the second thread portion 32 relative to the plug 25. |
