PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device, an information processing method, and a program which can flexibly perform processing corresponding to processing control information on the basis of the acquired processing control information.SOLUTION: A communication device comprises: a first communication unit which performs communication with an external device via one communication path; a determination unit which determines a processing mode for executing an application on the basis of processing control information including first identification information directly indicating the application or second identification information indirectly indicating the application; and a processing unit which executes the application corresponding to the processing control information on the basis of the determined processing mode.
