PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roof device for vehicle capable of reducing weight and size while keeping stiffness, and a method of manufacturing the roof device for vehicle.SOLUTION: A frame 14 has a closed cross-sectional shape formed with a hollow portion 21 penetrating over the whole length in a longitudinal direction. A pair of rail installing portions 25 respectively fixed to a pair of guide rails is set to have an opening area in a closed cross-sectional shape smaller than an intermediate portion 26 of the frame 14 put between the rail installing portions 25.
