PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust heat recovery system and an exhaust heat recovery method in which coolant is heated by exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine to accelerate warmth, and after warmth, a power is taken out by an exhaust heat recovery device and the attained power is used to improve fuel economy in operation of the internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: The exhaust heat recovery system includes: an exhaust heat recovery device 2 including a first heat exchanger 6 for heating coolant with exhaust gas and a second heat exchanger 21 for recovering heat energy using the heat-exchanged coolant as a heat source; a first valve 7 for adjusting a flow rate of coolant for the first heat exchanger 6; a second valve 8 for changing over the coolant having passed through the first heat exchanger 6 to an internal combustion engine 1 and the exhaust heat recovery device 2; and a second temperature sensor for detecting a coolant temperature at an inlet port of the internal combustion engine. When the detected temperature of the second temperature sensor is less than a desired warmth temperature of the internal combustion engine, the first valve 7 flows the coolant toward the first heat exchanger 6 and at the same time the second valve flows the coolant toward the internal combustion engine. |
