PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus and program capable of improving the recognition rate of commodities.SOLUTION: An information processing apparatus includes: capturing means for capturing a photographed image photographed by imaging means having sensitivity for visible light and near infrared rays; first extraction means for extracting the first feature amount of a commodity that is a subject from an infrared image representing a near infrared component of the photographed image; second extraction means for extracting the second feature amount of the commodity from a visible light image representing a visible light component of the photographed image; and recognition means for recognizing the commodity by using at least one of the first feature amount and the second feature amount.
