PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine whether an object spot is a famous spot.SOLUTION: In a famous spot determination device 1 which determines whether an object spot is a famous spot which is well-known nationwide, a support score calculation part 5 calculates support scores of respective place names based upon appearance frequencies of the respective place names included in the address of the object spot extracted from a group of documents, including names of object spots, in a document DB 8. A name value calculation part 6 calculates how well the spot is known from values obtained by weighting the support scores of the respective place names using geographical scores of the respective place names determined to be smaller as geographical ranges that the place names represent are narrower.
