PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for reducing image density unevenness caused by a change in a developing gap and the like.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus is provided, in which toner images formed on photoreceptors 20Y, 20C, 20M, 20K by toner image forming means such as a charging device, a laser writing device, and a developing device are transferred onto a sheet via an intermediate transfer belt 10 by an effect of a transfer bias applied by a primary transfer device so as to form an image on a sheet. The density of a test toner image for detecting density unevenness formed by the toner image forming means is detected by an optical sensor 110, density unevenness information of the test toner image is detected based on the detection result, and setting of transfer bias conditions is adjusted based on the detected density unevenness information to change the transfer bias so as to reduce the density unevenness of the test toner image. |
