The present invention provides imidazole derivatives, pharmaceutical compositions comprising said compounds, and their use in treating human or animal disorders. The compounds of the invention inhibit protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B and thus can be useful for the management, treatment, control, or the adjunct treatment of diseases mediated by PTPase activity. Such diseases include Type II diabetes.
