PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately perform optical correction by efficiently transferring optical correction data between a lens and an imaging apparatus body, in a lens-interchangeable imaging apparatus. SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus includes: an optical system; a first storage means storing the optical correction data for correcting image quality deterioration caused by properties of the optical system; a second storage means; a transfer means for transferring the optical correction data from the first storage means to the second storage means; and an optical correction means. When the optical correction data corresponding to the current state of the optical system has been transferred to the second storage means, the transfer means selects optical correction data corresponding to the state of the optical system different from the current state of the optical system from the first storage means and transfers the selected optical correction data to the second storage means.
