PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oxytitanium phthalocyanine composition having a performance capability suitable for being applied to a photoelectric material for use in an electronic paper, an organic electroluminescence element, an electrophotographic photoreceptor, or the like, and a method of producing the same; and to provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor having an excellent sensitivity, in particular, in electric properties thereof and a low residual potential, and an image forming apparatus using the photoreceptor. SOLUTION: The oxytitanium phthalocyanine has a powder X-ray diffraction spectrum by a CuKαcharacteristic X-ray such that the maximum diffraction peak is observed at a Bragg angle of (2θ±0.2°) of 27.3°. The method of producing the composition comprises mechanically pulverizing phthalonitrile and titanium tetrachloride as materials, and a diaryl alkane solvent, as a reaction solvent, having a structure in which aryl groups are linked via alkylidene groups.
