<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device in which assistance is continued when the assistance is possible when a failure occurs in a storage device possessed by a device for controlling the electric power steering device. <P>SOLUTION: The ECU 30 possessed by the electric power steering device includes a CPU 101, a RAM 102 and a ROM 103. The RAM 102 has a normal time storage region used in a normal state and a failure-occurrence time storage region used when the failure occurs. The ROM 103 has a normal time computer program storage region used in the normal state and a failure-occurrence time computer program storage region used when the failure occurs.
