The present invention relates to a coupler for connecting thread bars. The coupler has a main body formed with austemper-treated spherical graphite cast iron. The main body comprises a hollow unit, in which a reinforcing bar which is a connection target is inserted, and a female screw formed on the inner side of the hollow unit. The cross sectional area of the center of the main body meets a condition: the cross sectional area of the center of the coupler x the tensile strength per unit area of the coupler >= the cross sectional area of the reinforcing bar×the tensile strength per unit area of the reinforcing bar.
