The device e.g. lighting module (102), has a light source (104) i.e. LED, and a plate (106) for supporting the source. The plate includes a mid plane delimited by perimeter. A heat sink (122) is made of plastic material whose thermal conductivity is greater than 1 Watt per meter Kelvin. The heat sink is thermally coupled with the plate, and includes a heat-exchange surface (124) to exchange heat with the ambient air, where the surface exceeds perimeter of the plate and/or transverse to the mid plane of the plate. The surface forms wings parallel and/or perpendicular to the mid plane.
