An image zooming in apparatus and a method thereof are provided to zoom in an image through a bilinear interpolation method for zooming in the image through simple calculation without performing fraction calculation. If an image zoom in is requested, pixels to be interpolated among pixels of the zoom in image are searched(503). Linear weight values corresponding to each of the search pixels are calculated(505). The calculated linear weight value is converted into approximation linear weight values(509). An approximation linear interpolation expression is generated by reflecting each of the converted approximation linear weight values to approximation linear interpolation expression. The generated approximation linear interpolation expression is converted into an approximation linear interpolation expression of bit operation. After calculating pixel values corresponding to the searched pixels by processing bit operation, the searched pixels are interpolated. |
