The device (1) has an insertion zone whose recess (12) is filled by a block that is made from a plastic material utilized for forming a sliding part (5). The block covers an insertion edge so as to form a pad (14) to avoid a contact between a metal locking part (7) and the rod when the locking part is away from a notch (3) while allowing an insertion of the locking part in the notch. The insertion edge is curved in a convex form so as to limit a risk of the contact between the locking part and the rod when the locking part is engaged in the notch and actuated in a rotational movement. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a motor vehicle seat (2) a headrest.
