PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a prism sheet and a back light unit which enable the light provided from a light source to be dispersed uniformly so as to prevent hot spots from occurring.SOLUTION: A back light unit comprises: a light source; a light guide plate which transmits the light provided from the light source in the direction of a display panel; and a prism sheet disposed on the light guide plate. The prism sheet includes a first portion including a prism extending in a first direction, and a second portion including a prism extending in a second direction different from the first direction portion. The second direction is vertical to a light incident surface of the light guide plate facing the light source.
