PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a main shaft device of a machine tool that can prevent an adapter mounted on a main shaft from falling.SOLUTION: There is provided a main shaft device of a machine tool 1 such that a small-diameter tool 40 which has a smaller tapered shape than a large-diameter tool 30 can be attached to and detached from a main shaft 16 on which the large-diameter tool 30 can be mounted, the main shaft device including: a tool locking mechanism 20 which enables the large-diameter tool 40 to be clamped; an adapter 50 having a clamp mechanism 52 enabling the small-diameter tool 40 to be clamped in conjunction with an action of the tool locking mechanism 20; a rack pin 81 which is supported movably in the adapter 50; a spring 82 which energizes the rack pin 81; an engagement holding part 103 which presses the rack pin 81 against the energizing force of the spring 82; and a connecting bolt 83 which connects the main shaft 16 and adapter 50 to each other when the rack pin 81 moves outward in a main-shaft radius direction and separates the main shaft 16 and adapter 50 from each other when the rack pin 81 moves inward in a main-shaft radius direction. |
