PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for generating a synthetic image using plural view point changed images, which suppresses occurrence of distortion in the image and prevents the image from becoming unclear at a border portion between images.SOLUTION: An on-vehicle image generation apparatus comprises: a first camera 11 for imaging the front or rear of a vehicle; and second and third cameras 12 and 13 for imaging the right and left of the vehicle. View point change means generates, on the basis of images taken by the second and third cameras, a set of view point changed images viewed from a pair of virtual view points V2 and V3 having view line axes different from those of the cameras and parallel to each other. Center image generation means generates a center image for synthesis from an image taken by the first camera, and synthetic image generation means generates a synthetic image by disposing the set of view point changed images by the center image. |
