PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bone cement composition which can be used for plasty of vertebral body and/or vertebral bone without sagging after mixture of a powder component and a monomer liquid, exhibiting thixotropic properties in a processing step, with reduced adhesion (reduced moistening behavior, in particular) on the surface.SOLUTION: A hardenable bone cement composition includes: at least one organic polymer; at least one polymerizable monomer; at least one radical polymerizable polymer; at least one fine particle inorganic additive with a BET surface of at least 40 m2/g, having covalent bonded hydroxyl group; and at least one fatty acid ester or fatty acid ester mixture. The composition is suitably used, for example, for enhancing the bone tissue in osteoporosis. The composition is preferably in a liquid form having thixotropic properties and hardenability or in a paste form having thixotropic properties and hardenability. |
