PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a module for ozone generation capable of quantitatively controlling the generation of ozone, compact, and entailing scarce electric power consumption.SOLUTION: A provided ozone generation unit 1 comprises: a pyroelectric crystal 5; a heat sink 7 to which the pyroelectric crystal is fitted in an electrically insulated state; and a heater 6 fitted to the heat sink in an electrically insulated state and contacted with the pyroelectric crystal in an electrically insulated state. The heater bears a resistance value calculated from the supply voltage of an electric power source unit 2 and the optimal current value specific to the pyroelectric crystal in compliance with Ohm's law. The control unit 3 executes a control of feeding an electric power into the heater over a fixed period alone at a fixed time interval, as a result of which temperature gain-loss cycles of the pyroelectric crystal are repeated. The optimal current value specific to the pyroelectric crystal is determined in advance so as to induce, for the purpose of generating ozone having a specified concentration, temperature gain-loss cycles within the confine of a specified temperature difference while the maximal temperature of the pyroelectric crystal is being maintained within a specified range. |
