PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To expand a function by improving display of an icon, and to improve display of a message in oblique projection, and position detection accuracy on a screen by a camera incorporated in a display device, in a presentation system comprising an electronic blackboard device, a display device (for example, a liquid crystal projector) and a PC.SOLUTION: A display device displays an icon or a message in a part which does not display a display image for explanation by performing OSD synthesis. An icon function is set by a PC, and carries out a setting related to an operation of the PC or the display device or a setting of an external apparatus. The number of rows of a message to be displayed is determined in accordance with distortion correction in oblique projection, and positional coordinates captured by a camera are calibrated.
