<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shroud arrangement that realizes an early interlock of turbine bucket shrouds by reducing a gap between contact surfaces of the shrouds.SOLUTION: A turbine bucket shroud arrangement includes a contact region 54 of a tip shroud 50, where the contact region 54 is in close proximity to an adjacent tip shroud 50. Also included is a negative thermal expansion material 60 disposed proximately to the contact region 54, the contact region 54 comprising a first volume during a startup condition and a shutdown condition of the turbine system and a second volume during a steady state condition of the turbine system, where the second volume is less than the first volume.</p> |
