PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cash handling apparatus that allows a safe to be properly mounted/demounted by preventing the safe from suddenly coming off without impairing operability in mounting/demounting the safe. SOLUTION: The cash handling apparatus includes: a storage room 5a opened to one end side; a safe A having a grip (h) on a side portion op opened to the outside while the safe A is detachably stored in the storage room 5a and mounted on the storage room 5a; a regulation part 6 for regulating the detachment of the safe A so as not to be detached beyond a predetermined distance W1 by engaging a part of the storage 5a with a part of the safe A when the safe A is detached from the storage room 5a; and a release part 7 for releasing the regulation of the regulation part 6 when receiving release operation.
