PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability in activation of automatic travel, and smoothly activate the automatic travel.SOLUTION: A vehicle control unit 10 includes a travel determination block 25 that determines whether its own vehicle has entered or exited from an exclusive vehicle road, and a mode designation block 27 that designates a mode relevant to automatic travel of its own vehicle on the basis of the result of determination by the travel determination block 25. The mode designation block 27 designates an automatic travel activation mode in which the automatic travel of its own vehicle is activated, an automatic travel standby mode in which activation of the automatic travel of its own vehicle is enabled, and an automatic travel cease mode in which the automatic travel of its own vehicle is inactivated. If a determination is made that its own vehicle has entered the exclusive vehicle road, the mode designation block 27 designates the automatic travel standby mode. If a determination is made that its own vehicle has exited from the exclusive vehicle road, the mode designation block 27 designates the automatic travel cease mode. |
