<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a target detection device which can detect a pedestrian with a high probability even in the case of the existence of a stopping vehicle.SOLUTION: A target detection device (1) includes imaging means (5) which images a periphery of a vehicle (103); target detection means (5, 7) which detects a prescribed target from an image captured by the imaging means, by image recognition using a pattern of the target; and stopping vehicle detection means (3, 5, 7) which detects a stopping vehicle (105) existing in the periphery of the vehicle. The target detection means detects a pedestrian (109) more preferentially when the stopping vehicle is detected by the stopping vehicle detection means than when the stopping vehicle is not detected, in at least an area which overlaps the stopping vehicle in the image when viewed from the vehicle.</p> |
