PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a disc brake which can improve production efficiency.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of a disc brake includes: a diameter reduction step of reducing a diameter of a C-shaped locking member 53 by pressing it from its external circumference side; a holding step of engaging a retainer member 168 with holding units at both ends of the locking member 53 whose diameter is reduced; an insertion step of inserting the locking member 53 in a cylinder 23 while holding a diameter reduction state with the retainer member 168; and an engagement step of cancelling holding of the diameter reduction state of the locking member 53 with the retainer member 168 and engaging the locking member 53 with an engagement groove 36 while the locking member 53 reaches a position of the engaging groove 36.
