PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear light source device converting light from one light-emitting device into linearly spread light to output.SOLUTION: A lens 2 spreads a light beam in a predetermined region 13, including an optical axis 20 of the light-emitting device among light incident from a light-emitting device 1, to a second direction (x direction) with a predetermined diffusion angle. In regard to a first direction (y direction), convergence is made. Thus, the light from the one light-emitting device 1 is converted into linearly spread light to output. In regard to the second direction (x direction), the light beam is coarse in the predetermined region 13, whereas the light beam is dense in a region 14 outside therefrom. Accordingly, light quantity distribution in a linear longitudinal direction (x direction) when used as a light source for an image reading device can be actualized by the control of light beam density. |
