<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a calibration method of a radiation meter appropriate for calibrating a radiation meter used for measuring the states before and after decontamination in an actual radiation field containing many scattered rays, such as a field in Fukushima prefecture where radioactive materials have scattered, and to provide a radiation irradiation device for calibration of low energy scattered rays used for the calibration method.SOLUTION: A radiation irradiation device for calibration of low energy scattered rays includes: a shield box 20 into which a probe 10 to be calibrated can be inserted; a radiation source 40 disposed at a position that does not directly face the probe 10 to be calibrated in the shield box 20; and a direct radiation shield body 30 for shielding or reducing the direct radiation arriving at the probe 10 to be calibrated from the radiation source 40. Using the radiation irradiation device, a radiation meter is calibrated using the scattered rays that are released from the radiation source 40 and scattered at least once.</p> |
