PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner capable of suitably raising responsiveness when adjusting the focal distance of an optical beam.SOLUTION: An optical scanning unit 5 comprises a diaphragm 10, a mirror unit 30 having a reflection surface 30a for reflecting an optical beam and supported by the diaphragm 10, a first drive mechanism for vibrating the diaphragm 10, and a second drive mechanism for adjusting the focal distance of the optical beam reflected by the reflection surface 30a of the mirror unit 30. The second drive mechanism is configured to deform the mirror unit 30 by a repulsive force against attraction as interaction between an energized mirror drive coil 41 and a magnetostatic field of a mirror magnetostatic field generation unit 42. A drive control unit 6 supplies a deformation drive current for deforming the mirror unit 30 to the mirror drive coil 41 so that the radius of curvature of the reflection surface 30a becomes to match a target value corresponding to the focal distance of the optical beam. Therefore, when the deformation drive current is supplied to the mirror drive coil 41, the mirror unit 30 can be immediately deformed by the repulsive force against attraction. |
