PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small size coating applicator which reduces the used amount of a cleaning fluid, and to provide a coating method.SOLUTION: A coating applicator (1) includes: a conveyor belt (11) which conveys a substrate (5); a discharge head (21) which sprays a liquid repellent agent (28) to an entire surface of the substrate (5) so that the liquid repellent agent (28) spreads out of an edge part of the substrate (5) and adheres to the conveyor belt (11); and a cleaning nozzle (31) which sprays a cleaning fluid (38) to the conveyor belt (11), to which the liquid repellent agent (28) adheres, after the substrate (5) is ejected. |
