PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide gallium oxide which is good in filtration performance and washability, and is fine particles and has a large BET specific surface area suitable as a phosphor raw material, a target raw material, a transparent electrically conductive film and a single crystal substrate material having transparent electrical conductivity. SOLUTION: The method for producing gallium oxide includes: a process of obtaining gallium hydroxide by mixing an acidic aqueous solution containing gallium with a basic aqueous solution and adjusting pH within the range of 8-10; a heat treating process of obtaining gallium oxyhydroxide by keeping the obtained gallium hydroxide at a temperature not lower than 60°C at a pH within the range of 8-10 for not less than 1 hour; and a process of obtaining the gallium oxide by filtering and washing the gallium oxyhydroxide obtained by heat-treatment, and thereafter drying and firing the resulting gallium oxyhydroxide. In the process of obtaining the gallium oxide, after pulverizing the gallium oxyhydroxide, the pulverized gallium oxyhydroxide is fired. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
