<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector which properly adjusts its projection state according to a state of ambient light and to provide a control method thereof. <P>SOLUTION: A projector 100 includes: a light source 140; a liquid crystal panel 130 which modulates light emitted from the light source 140; a projection optical system 150 which projects the modulated light on a screen SC; an imaging unit 180 which captures the screen SC; an ambient light detection unit 122 which performs detection of ambient light on the screen SC based on the captured image data; a light amount adjustment unit 123 which performs, based on a result of the detection, adjustment of an amount of light reaching the screen SC from the light source 140; and a correction control unit 124 which controls, after the adjustment by the light amount adjustment unit 123, at least either the liquid crystal panel 130 or the projection optical system 150 based on the captured image data captured by the imaging unit 180, so as to correct a projection image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
