PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dwelling unit with a sense of openness by securing a large opening area of a window opening while securing the strength on a balcony side in a multifamily building. SOLUTION: The plate-like multifamily building 1 is constituted by a first dwelling unit U<SB>1</SB>having a structural surface 3 on the balcony side, and a second dwelling unit U<SB>2</SB>having no structural surface 3 on the balcony side. The window opening W<SB>1</SB>(the window opening at the boundary between a dwelling unit D<SB>1</SB>and a balcony V<SB>1</SB>) of the first unit U<SB>1</SB>is disposed between a structural surface 2 on a shared passage side and the structural surface 3 on the balcony side. According to this structure, the balcony-side strength of the plate-like multifamily building 1 can be secured by disposing only a necessary number of the first dwelling units U<SB>1</SB>, and since arrangement of a beam 31 on the window opening W<SB>1</SB>, W<SB>2</SB>of each dwelling unit is dispensed with, the opening area can be largely secured to provide a dwelling unit with a sense of openness.
