PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an organic photoreceptor in which a protective layer has a desired layer thickness while the protective layer has a sufficient strength. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of organic photoreceptor is a method of manufacturing an organic photoreceptor formed by laminating an organic photosensitive layer and a protective layer on a conductive support in this order, and includes the step of applying a coating liquid for protective layer formation containing a polymerizable compound component to form a curable resin constituting the protective layer and a thickener component for polymerization reaction with the polymerizable compound component.
