<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lead storage battery which is superior in life performance in an automobile equipped with an idling-stop function, and whose initial discharge capacity is within a practical range.SOLUTION: A lead storage battery comprises: an electrolyte; and a negative electrode active material. The electrolyte includes 0.02-0.2 mol of aluminum ions per liter. The negative electrode active material includes 0.1-2 pts.mass of carbon black, 0.1-2 pts.mass of graphite, and 0.05-1 pt.mass of fibrous carbon to 100 pts.mass of the negative electrode active material. Thus, the idling stop life performance of a lead storage battery can be enhanced, and the high-rate discharge performance and the initial discharge capacity can be kept in practical ranges respectively.</p> |
