PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonwoven fabric that has both high tensile strength and high specific tear strength and to provide a method for producing the nonwoven fabric.SOLUTION: The nonwoven fabric contains a first fiber having a number average fiber width of not less than 2 nm to less than 1,000 nm and a second fiber having a number average fiber width of not less than 1,000 nm to not more than 100,000 nm and a number average fiber length of 0.1-20 nm, and has a specific tear strength of not less than 3.0 mN m/g and a tensile strength of not less than 10 MPa.
