PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable valve gear for an internal combustion engine, which suppresses the degradation of responsiveness while securing lubricating performance.SOLUTION: The variable valve gear for the internal combustion engine includes a cam base part to be rotated with a cam shaft, a cam lobe part connected to the cam base part so as to be rockable between a high position projecting from the outer periphery of the cam base part and a low position lower than the high position, a cam follower to be driven by the cam lobe part located at the high position, a passage which is formed in the cam base part and on which a hydraulic pressure operates for changing over the position of the cam lobe part, and a supply passage for establishing a communication between the passage and the outside of the cam lobe part when the cam lobe part is located at one of the high position and the low position, and for cancelling the communication between the passage and the outside of the cam lobe part when the cam lobe part is located at the other. |
