<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a horizontal transfer device for a steel bar which includes a buffer function to store the steel bar. <P>SOLUTION: The horizontal transfer device for the steel bar A includes a loading plate 11 to load the steel bar W on the upper end thereof, a columnar plate 12 to support the edge part of the loading plate 11 on the side of roller table 5, and a driving mechanism 20 to drive the columnar plate 12. Even though the loading plate 11 is in a stand-by situation above the cooling bed 4 with the steel bar W loaded on it, the columnar plate 12 does not cause interference so that the following steel bar W can be accumulated on the cooling bed 4. Even when a trouble happens on the delivery side of the steel bar, a cobble handling is not required so that yield loss is avoided. Thus, cooling time of the steel bar W can be lengthened so that temperature of the steel bar W goes down, resulting in quality improvement. Even when the steel bar is on stand-by, it does not interfere with the movement of cooling spray and delivery mechanism or the like which are located above the roller table. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
