<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a CRC value for an errorless record series with a reduced delay time when an error series is in reverse order to a reproduction series.SOLUTION: An embodiment of the present invention has a storage section 1, a data reading section 2 and a CRC generation device 3. The CRC generation device 3 is provided with a CRC generation section 31 for generating a first CRC value for a reproduction series; an ECC section 32 for detecting an error series in reverse order; a CRC inverse operation section 33 for computing an inverse operation result of CRC for the error series in reverse order; a CRC generation shift register group 34 for holding CRC conversion information; an error series CRC generation section 35 for producing a second CRC value for the error series in normal order from the inverse operation result of CRC and the CRC conversion information; and an XOR section 36 for producing a CRC value for an errorless record series from the first CRC value and the second CRC value.</p> |
