Method for Providing Translations to an E-Reader and System Thereof

An eReader displays contents of an eBook and, in response to a user request, obtains a translation of text in the eBook and displays the translated text. Optionally, the eReader uses text-to-speech technology to read the translated text to the user.

1. A method for providing translated written contents for display on an electronic reading device, the method comprising:
receiving from said electronic reading device a translation request to translate said written contents from a first language to a second language; receiving from said electronic reading device said written contents in said first language for translation; translating said written contents into said second language; and sending translated written contents in said second language to said electronic reading device for display.
