摘要 [Problem] To provide a positive electrode active material for a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary cell, with which it is possible to improve the output characteristics during use in extremely-low-temperature environments. [Solution] Into particles of a nickel-cobalt-manganese compound hydroxide represented by the general formula: NixCoyMnzMt(OH)2+α (where x + y + z + t = 1, 0.30 ≤ x ≤ 0.70, 0.10 ≤ y ≤ 0.40, 0.10 ≤ z 0.40, 0 ≤ t ≤ 0.01, and M is one or more elements selected from Mg, Ca, Al, Ti, V, Cr, Zr, Nb, Mo, Hf, Ta, and W) is admixed a lithium compound, such that the ratio of the number of lithium atoms to the total number of atoms of metal elements other than lithium is 1:0.95 to 1.20. The lithium mixture is baked in an oxidizing atmosphere so that the temperature elevation rate in a temperature zone of at least 30-800°C is set to 4-10°C/min, the baking temperature is set to 800-1,000°C, the hold time at the baking temperature is within 5 hours, and the time from initiation of temperature elevation to completion of holding is 3.0-7.0 hours.
