A seat (1A) is provided with a pivotable sitting section (3), a seat back section (4) which can pivot independently of the sitting section (3), a first support section (20) which suspends and supports the front side of the sitting section (3), and a second support section (30) which suspends the rear side of the sitting section (3) from behind the seat back section (4) and pivotally supports, together with the first support section (20), the sitting section (3). Because of the seat (1A) being configured such that the front side and rear side of the sitting section (3) are suspended and supported, force for supporting a seat load can be more easily obtained than in a seat in which the front side of the sitting section is supported in a cantilever manner. A support structure around the sitting section (3) including the front side thereof can be more easily reduced in size because the rear side of the sitting section (3) is suspended and supported from behind the seat back section (4). |
