PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for determining a direction and a method thereof.SOLUTION: The device for determining a direction comprises a MEMS inertial measurement unit (IMU), a GPS system which includes a GPS antenna and a receiver, and a processor which is configured to receive data from the IMU and the GPS system. The processor is configured to process IMU data and GPS data in order to derive a true north reference on the basis of the IMU data and the GPS data. Further, the method for determining a direction includes providing a device which comprises a MEMS inertial measurement unit (IMU), a GPS system, and a processor. The GPS system comprises a GPS antenna and a receiver. The method further includes a step for moving the device and a step for transmitting IMU data and GPS data to the processor. |
