PURPOSE:To realize tight coupling having no shift by projecting plural couplers from one-side flanks of a plug and a receptacle with which a light receiving and emitting elements and an optical fiber are coupled, and forming insertion holes where the couplers are pressed in the other-side flanks. CONSTITUTION:The plug 1 is constituted by inserting a housing 4 which stores a ferrule 2, the ferrule 2, a two-leg metallic coupler 3, then covering the upper half part of the housing 4 with a cap 5, and fitting and fixing the housing 4 and cap 5 by using a ring 6. Insertion holes 7 into which projecting metallic couplers 3 are inserted are formed in the flanks of the housing 4 and cap 5. Further, insertion holes 7 into which the projecting metallic couplers are formed one flank of the plug 1 and insertion holes 7 where the metallic couplers are pressed in are formed in the other flanks, so the tight coupling is attained by pressing them in each other.
