<p>The purpose of the present invention is to prevent vibration caused by the destabilizing force due to a liquid film or the like, or by frictional force during dry operation, during drainage operations involving slurries, or the like, with no sacrifice of wear resistance. This vertical shaft pump has a sleeve (11) made of metal, positioned about the outer circumference of a rotary shaft (10, 10'). A first slide bearing (1) is situated to the outer circumference side of the sleeve (11). A second slide bearing (9) is situated to the outer circumference side of a first bearing case (12).
