The invention relates to devices using periodic shock waves, producible in a supersonic gas jet when the latter is retarded by a hollow resonator, for atomizing liquids. The technical result of the invention is an increase in the dispersibility of the droplets being produced. The technical result is achieved in that, in the pneumo-acoustic liquid atomizer, a resonator body is mounted inside a housing with the formation of a groove with a width and a depth h at a distance l from a deflector, the internal part of the resonator body is in the form of a conical funnel with an outlet diameter dk, and a diffuser element is attached to the conical funnel, and an input duct for liquid is in the form of a connecting pipe, wherein the diameter of the critical section is selected from the condition of production therein of one of the transverse resonances at the operating frequency of the gas-jet generator. The diffuser element is in the form of a helical swirler, and the diameter of the critical section is selected from the following conditions: dk=αmn λ/&pgr;, where: αmn are the roots of the equation Y1(αmn)=0; Y1 is a first-order Bessel function, and λ is the wavelength of oscillations which can be generated in the pneumo-acoustic liquid atomizer. |
