PURPOSE:To obtain a silent air conditioner which can effectively suppress noise without providing an elaborate silencer, by providing a duct which pierces through the inside of an inner casing and which is connected to the side of the discharge opening of an outer casing, and by composing a part of a duct of punched boards. CONSTITUTION:A duct 17 is provided in an inner casing 13. It pierces through the inside of a casing 13, and is connected to an opening on the discharge side of an outer casing 10. Part of a duct 17 is made of punched boards 18 such as punching metal. The duct 17 and the inner casing 13 comprise an expansive type silencer. Noise absorbing material 16 such as glass wool is applied to the inside surfaces of an outer casing 10 and an inner casing 13. The noises on the side of an intake opening 19 and those from the side of an outer casing are reduced in the same manner as a conventional way. In regard to the noise on the side of a discharge opening 20, main low frequency constituents are suppressed by the noise suppressing effect of a muffler consisting of the inner casing 13, the duct 17, and the punched boards 18.
