PURPOSE:To secure such a caterpillar tread that is ease of bending, light in weight and excellent in lateral rigidity and durability, by charging plural pieces of reinforced cords to the inside of the tractive projection installed in a direction to be crossed with a longitudinal direction of the caterpillar tread, in parallel with this projection, each cord of which is almost the same length as the projection. CONSTITUTION:At the peripheral surface side 1a of a crawler body 1 embedding tensile strength core bodies 5 in the longitudinal direction, there are plural tractive projections 2 in a direction to be crossed with the longitudinal direction of the crawler body 1 at the specified intervals, and at the backside 1b, there are provided with driving projections 3. At the inside of each tractive projection 2, there are charged with plural reinforced cords 4 being almost the same length as the projection 2 and paralleled with the longitudinal direction of the projection 2. Thus, the crawler body 1 can be constituted with the tensile strength core body 5 and formed in thickness as far as a portion for the protective layer, so that bending motion of the crawler body 1 is easy, thus such a caterpillar tread that is light in weight and excellent in lateral rigidity and durability is securable.
